HARVEY SCHMIDT (born September 12, 1929 in Dallas, Texas) is a writer of musical theatre, best known for the longest running musical in history, The Fantasticks, which has been running off-Broadway since 1960.
All of Schmidt's major musicals were written with lyricist Tom Jones whom he met at the University of Texas at Austin.

TOM JONES (born in 1928 in Texas) is a lyricist of musical theatre, best known for the longest running musical in history, The Fantasticks, which has been running off-Broadway since 1960.

WHAT IS BROADWAY MEMORIES?

Broadway Memories is a radio show focusing on the halcyon days of prolific composers such as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Cy Coleman, Lerner & Loewe, Lorenz Hart and other geniuses of days gone by. The host of Broadway Memories, Gary Hofmeister, is a former professional actor/singer, jeweler and radio talk show host with a passion for Broadway theatre known as musical comedy. Also making special guest appearances will be Broadway authority extraordinaire Bob Young, the former general manager of Starlight Musicals, Inc. Bob has prepared shows that tour the world with the biggest stars in the business. Together, their knowledge of music and theatre is encyclopedic and they have a passion to share it with listeners who are also captivated by its magic. The program is an hour of incredible music interspersed with pertinent commentary that brings the great composers, songs, stars, and general history of the “Golden Days” of Broadway to your living room.

The show is engineered and produced by Pembroke Moreland.
