THE HOSTS
About Gary
Hofmeister
Though Gary Hofmeister is the founder and C.E.O. of Hofmeister Personal Jewelers,
his varied interests have led him in many other directions. A professional singer/actor
immediately out of college in 1963, he was an understudy and member of the first
traveling Broadway Company of How To Succeed In Business Without
Really Trying. Subsequently, he spent two summers in the resident
company of Starlight Musicals in Indianapolis where he first met the general
manager, Robert L. Young, Jr. who has remained a friend these many decades. Simultaneously
with his prosperous jewelry business, he has also spent much time in the former
USSR as a teacher of Free Enterprise and business. He was also the Republican
nominee for U.S. Congress in 1998. Gary is married to JoAnne and together they
are the proud grandparents of 19. |

About Bob Young
Robert L. Young, Jr. was raised in Indiana and graduated from DePauw University
in 1954. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and rose to the rank of captain.
He was charged with booking top entertainment for the troops during this
period such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and many other stars.
His success at these endeavors sealed his future when he was honorably
discharged from the corps. He joined Starlight Musicals as assistant
manager in 1958 and agreed to become general manager four years later
with the stipulation that they allow him to fulfill his vision of implementing
the Star System. This became an instant hit with the booking of Carol
Burnett in 1962 and virtually all Broadway stars followed. Many shows
initially mounted in Indianapolis went on to be presented in their entirety
at other "Starlight" type venues all around the country. Bob
has also booked Broadway type shows throughout the world and is still
active presenting such shows, most notably recently with the current
Fiddler On The Roof on Broadway. He is the father of four and grandfather
of six. |
